Ringing in the New Year

I'm sure everyone is making resolutions and plans for the new year. I know I have, I just don't feel the need to write them all down, so that when 2010 rolls around they can silently mock me...

Well the one goal I have for the new year is to draw more :D Not very orginal I'm sure. It's also a goal to look at more phan art and DA and connect with fellow artists. I think I've reached a point in my life when I can just draw for pure pleasure and not have to worry about career/school/etc.

I have a new computer and sadly haven't gotten Photoshop for it. But I still have my old machince around so if I need to work on any intense digtal project...(rare occassion) I can always plug it in again. For now I'm trying to use GIMP a free software to do my basic picture editing but it not very clear cut. Has anyone here heard or used GIMP? Any pointers?

In 2009, my husband and I will have known each other for 10 years! Cripes I feel so old :faint:
