Okay for the past month I've developed a serious crush on the Kopit/Yeston Phantom musical. Not the Charles Dance miniseries but the actually musical which was released in the early 1990's.
Now nothing can touch the music of the ALW Phantom, but I've always preferred the story of the K/Y version (even with its flaws) Also I think many of Christine's songs are extremely challenging to sing... but that another tangent.
So here we have the picnic/glade scene which I think works really well on stage versus on film. And I'm sorry...these two are just oh so so cute. I love this scene. I love how shy Erik is and then he gets really excited talking about books and music. He not the seducer...he is completely sincere.
Oh and when he goes to offer Christine his arm to stroll with him...he's so nervous and afraid, then she takes his arm he just blushes....I love it!
Based of this performance [link] starting the original Richard White (<3)
I'll be drawing much more of these two in the future
I LOVE this version of the Phantom SO CUTE. I've never seen it on stage but I own the movie version with Charles Dance. That's the perfect word for him, sincere.
I WOULD LOVE YOU, ERIIIIIIIIK! T-T *dies*
In the name of all that is fluffy in the world, I BEG YOU, do more!!!
I love this picture!!!! Its so perfect!!

Richard White has such a beautiful voice and a such anew interpretation of Erik's character!
